Australia won the match against West Indies in Adelaide, securing a 10-wicket victory before lunch on the third day. Josh Hazlewood had an outstanding performance, achieving career-best match figures. However, there was a dramatic moment when Shamar Joseph's bouncer caused Usman Khawaja to retire hurt with the scores level.

Shamar Joseph, batting at No. 11, showcased his skills by adding 26 runs for the last wicket with Kemar Roach, following their 55-run partnership in the first innings. Surprisingly, despite claiming Steven Smith with his first ball in Test cricket, Joseph wasn't given the new ball in the second innings. He came into the attack in the fifth over and produced a good delivery that beat Smith's edge.

In a late twist, Khawaja faced a lifter and an awkward bouncer that hit his helmet, causing him to bleed from the mouth. After a brief pause, Khawaja left the field, and Marnus Labuschagne hit the winning runs. Shamar Joseph made a memorable debut with his impactful performance.

West Indies, starting the day 22 runs behind with four wickets in hand, reduced the deficit to 11 before Joshua Da Silva fell to Mitchell Starc's short-ball plan. Alzarri Joseph played well but eventually edged a delivery from Hazlewood, who took his fifth wicket when Gudakesh Motie shouldered arms to a tight delivery.

The last-wicket pair of Shamar Joseph and Roach received cheers from the crowd for every run they added. Nathan Lyon, who bowled only one delivery at the start of the day, ended the resistance when Shamar Joseph charged and missed.

The second Test is set to begin in Brisbane on January 25, and it will be a day-night match.
